Difficulties in life limit one’s capacity to experience joy, to move through painful experiences with flexibility and strength, and to live fully. The difficulty might manifest as depression, anxiety, or perhaps just a feeling that more is possible. Is a persistent feeling of lethargy or being down keeping you from taking the steps you feel you need to take? Do you worry excessively about the future, or about what others think? Do you feel that you are missing something?
Depth psychotherapy, also referred to as psychodynamic therapy, is an inquiry into where you are, gradually following the present moment to where it needs to go, whether it is the past or the present, to see what it is that is getting in the way of living a flexible and free life. By examining thoughts, beliefs, and feelings, it is possible to gain some freedom from rigid patterns from the past. While anchored in a psychodynamic orientation, I also use internal family systems (IFS) and cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) to meet clients’ specific needs.
I’m committed to providing the caring, supportive relationship that will allow you to begin the work of encountering yourself, and finding your true voice. I look forward to being a part of your path toward wholeness!
