In-Person & Video Sessions
I am a clinical psychologist who helps people create fulfilling and meaningful lives. I have been in the field for over 20 years, and have enjoyed clinical work, research, teaching, and program development. I believe that the therapy relationship is a “real” relationship, and I value connecting with clients in a genuine way. I offer an empathic and curious listening ear, along with organized steps and positive encouragement that facilitates change. I have an eclectic approach that integrates therapies such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) and relational therapy.
I have supported people through many different kinds of challenges in their lives. Some particular areas of focus are: attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), anxiety, stress management and burn out, work-life balance, depression, low self-esteem, impostor syndrome, body image, loss/grief, trauma, being the loved one of a person with addiction, co-dependency, increasing assertiveness and setting boundaries, life transitions, existential and identity questions, finding meaning and purpose, relationship difficulties, sexuality, and parenting/caregiver struggles. I enjoy working with adults from all backgrounds and walks of life.
In addition to psychotherapy, I provide psychodiagnostic, neuropsychological, and forensic evaluations for adults. Typical evaluations include assessment of ADHD, exploring the extent and origin of cognitive weaknesses, clarifying psychiatric diagnoses and personality styles, and examining fitness-for-duty.
I received my doctorate in clinical psychology, with a specialty in neuropsychology, from The Graduate School and University Center of the City University of New York. My bachelor’s degree is from Vassar College with a major in biopsychology. I am intensively trained in DBT through Dr. Marsha Linehan’s organization, Behavioral Tech. In addition to my passion for mental health treatment, I love dance, music, design and spending time with my family. I have two children.
Please contact me for a free, brief telephone consultation to learn more about my practice and determine whether we might be a good fit. Email is the best way to reach me. I hope to hear from you!
