Jeri Mersky, PhD

Psychological Associate (94025845)

My life-long purpose has always been to help individuals improve their lives. I received a Ph.D. in psychology in the mid 1980s and then focused on helping leaders create healthier, productive workplace cultures. I coached leaders and teams in the workplace to set goals, examine barriers to goal achievement, and take active steps to improve individual and group behaviors to meet those goals.  In 2021, I expanded my focus beyond the workplace-to help individuals in their personal lives as well.

I am now a Psychological Associate working with adult clients who struggle with anxiety, low self-esteem, depression, ADHD, and relationships.  I connect deeply and empathically with my clients, having both personal and professional experience with these burdensome symptoms.  I believe it’s important to delve into each client’s history as well as one’s current situation—to connect the past with the present.  Most importantly, we’ll explore new coping strategies and ways to see oneself…and others.  I believe all four life domains can work in harmony:  self, work, home, community.

My philosophy for self-improvement (and self-compassion) often has to do with taking a deep dive into four major elements that affect our self-esteem and joy:

  • one’s current and past perspectives and patterns regarding self, family, relationships, success, and more (our thoughts/our cognition)
  • how some feelings may be hidden or inaccessible
  • whether (unexplored) feelings lead to unintentional behaviors
  • current strategies for dealing with unwanted feelings, such as stress, anxiety, self-deprecation, ADHD, and relationship dilemmas

Together, we explore how to undo the damage of the past as well as how your current thoughts and feelings can undermine or hinder your life.  My desire is to help you understand and use new perspectives and tools to create a more joyful and fulfilling life!
